At the beginning of this project before i had any ideas of a plan or a theme I looked through my work from the previous project and used photoshop to create new compositions with abstraction.

The most successful of the two being the left image that i named deep sleep,in this i used texture from the charcoal to make a textured floor. I feel this image has a very peaceful feel to it,
deep sleep

When in the idea generation part of the project a way of thinking outside the box is to choose three words to make work from, i had chosen dystopian fire and suspend. This forced me to think outside the box and come up with more unique ideas that i probably wouldn't have come up with otherwise

Now knowing that my theme will be time I started with idea generation exploring different ideas and routes i can take this theme. This is when i realised that there are many different ways of interpreting this theme like age and abstraction. After realising this I had to decide on one subtheme or idea so not to be too ambitious and not have the time to complete my project.
These smaller paintings are from when I was brainstorming different ideas for how I could show time in a piece of art Like birds in motion or literally showing a church clock in the landscape. The important thing I learnt from this is that paint is going to be my media of choice I my final work because of the diversity of colours and marks you can make with it instead of a media like oil pastels where you have set colours to draw with.

If i were to present my work i would have both canvas presented next to each other for people to view and compare the two paintings.

Small mind map that helped me remember key things about the lake that I wanted to remember and add in my spring painting
